The Black Room – In 1970 Franz Pass, a native of Damme Germany, landed in California in search of the American Dream. Equipped with retail management experience and a diploma in Textile Management, Franz started his own sock and hosiery business with the help of his future wife Joan Davis. As time went by, Franz realized that despite leaving Germany, Germany never quite left him. So, he started The Black Room as a homage to his native land and to sell unique, German fetish products here in the States- since there was no one producing latex and leather in this country. The business thrived for 20 years until Franz closed the business to take care of his sick wife, who passed away in 2010. They were married 36 years. Franz moved to Las Vegas Nevada in order to get a fresh start. Soon, he resurrected the Black Room right here in Sin City.
